Citrix has named FVC as its authorised distributor for application networking group (ANG) products across the Middle East.

The value added distributor, which is known for its work in the networking sector, is tasked with offering Citrix’s range of ANG products and solutions to partners and enterprise customers across the region.

FVC’s managing director, KS Parag, wants to incorporate Citrix’s wares into its portfolio as soon as possible and is assured of his firm’s ability to strengthen the vendor’s brand in the region.

"It is a perfect addition to our networking and security division and will allow us to extend Citrix's leadership in datacenter solutions to our customer and partner-base across the region,” commented Parag.

Antoine Aguado, regional director at Citrix, claims that the application networking arena is growing and that the signing of FVC will help the vendor to corner this need and in turn provide support to the new integration partners that it will gain through the agreement.

"With opportunities and business for our ANG products growing, FVC, with its value-based approach and on the ground presence across the region, has the right strategy to help us accelerate our business growth in the region,” asserted Aguado.

Prior to appointing FVC, Mindware, which distributes Citrix’s wider range of products, was handling the vendor’s ANG solutions since it dropped previous ANG distributor, US Telecom over a year ago. Citrix reveals that in the interim Mindware has ensured that its ANG product range has recorded significant growth in the region and this is one of the reasons it decided to look at hiring a specialist distributor which would be able to capitalise on this success. Citrix confirmed that Mindware will continue to distribute its ANG products in addition to FVC.

FVC hints that it will be looking to bring on board new channel partners that would be best suited to reselling Citrix ANG products, in addition to expanding the skills of its current partners to include these solutions.

CEO and president of Citrix, Mark Templeton, recently made his first visit to greet partners in the Middle East during which he indicated that the vendor was on the lookout for further partners to join its eco-system in the region. He also said that a recent relaxation in the Citrix Solutions Advisor (CSA) partner programme, which it calls CSA Authorised, should allow systems integrators that do not currently work with the vendor’s networking products to begin doing so.
