Gulf Air announced on Sunday it will increase frequencies on several services across the world this summer, to cope with changing demand amid global economic uncertainty.
The Bahraini airline plans to extend its Frankfurt service from nine to 11 weekly flights.
Services to Kuala Lumpur and Tehran will take off daily, while Manila will be extended to 12 weekly flights.
Meanwhile, services to Bangkok and Kathmandu will go double daily during the summer season.
“While many people are talking about the global economic turmoil, we are still very focused on the needs of our customers,” said Gulf Air CEO Björn Näf.
“The summer schedule means we can offer a wider range of frequencies and connecting flights to our most popular destinations."
"We are continually monitoring the changing market demand and aligning our network proactively to ensure we take advantage of all opportunities,” he added.
“I remain confident that with this strategy, the strength of the Gulf Air brand and our innovative products we are well positioned to emerge as the carrier of choice.”
The airline will deploy Boeing 777s on its busiest routes to London, Bangkok, Manila and Kuala Lumpur. Gulf Air recently brought in the aircraft as part of its re-fleeting strategy.
This year, Middle East airlines are expected to post $900m losses as the financial crisis continues to hit the global industry hard.
