Vodafone Egypt’s chief executive officer Richard Daly will relinquish his role to return to the United Kingdom and become the new CEO of Vodafone’s Partner Markets.
Daly, who joined Vodafone Egypt in 2005, was instrumental in increasing the company’s subscriber base from 5 million to 19 million.
Vodafone Egypt has revealed that Hatem Dowidar, presently CEO of Vodafone’s Partner Markets, will take over Daly’s position.
Dowidar has 10 years of executive management experience with Vodafone and initially joined the company’s Egypt business as marketing director in 1999. In 2004, he moved to Vodafone’s headquarters in the United Kingdom as the global director of Voice Propositions. After a successful two year stint as CEO of Vodafone Malta, he then returned to the UK to be the CEO of Partner Markets for the group.
In this role he managed the extension of the Vodafone brand, along with its products and services, to more than 45 countries.
The Vodafone Group has a significant presence in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the United States through the company's subsidiary undertakings, joint ventures, associated undertakings and investments.
