TOWN MEETING: Sheikh Mohammed is holding a 'town hall' style meeting via his new website where residents and journalists can question him on policy. (AFP)

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced he will be holding an online question and answer session with residents and the media in a week’s time.

The online ‘town hall’ meeting, as the event is being dubbed, will take place on Sheikh Mohammed’s official website www.uaepm.ae on April 18 – however questions can be submitted as of Saturday April 11.

The move is part of Sheikh Mohammed’s “keenness to interact with the citizens and media”, said a statement posted on the official WAM news agency.

Questions will be taken on the federal government, its strategy, direction, and the affairs of various ministers, Sheikh Mohammed will personally read the questions and post answers on the website on April 18.

One typical common quality that I have noticed both in Shaikh Rashid and Shaikh Mohammed and in all the Shaikhs of other emirates during my stay in Dubai for the past 34+ years is their Christ like humility and lowliness and soft spoken nature in all circumstances. I have very seldom seen shaikhs of other emirates physically, but has seen them in the 'Gulf News' photographs several times. Perhaps this may be the reason God has blessed this country so abundantly particulary Dubai, free from political and similar chaos. God bless UAE.

Dear H.H. Sheikh Mohammed,I stayed in Dubai & my family have stayed in Dubai for 40 years, but i found Indians are not given the respect they deserve, they are the people who made Dubai what it is today, your father had respect for Indians
