Charter flights operator Arab Wings is launching a sister company in Sharjah to provide business jet flights for government officials and executives, it announced on Monday.
The Jordanian company said it recently obtained an Air Operators certificate to form Gulf Wings, an executive flights business that will also provide aircraft management services for luxury jet owners.
No timeframe was given for when the company will be launched.
“Our expansion is a true reflection of our dedicated commitment to offer the best in the private aviation field, especially in the management of private jets,” said Arab Wings general manager Ahmad Abu Ghazaleh.
“With our new base to be in Sharjah, we will have more flexibility operating from new stations, offering the same quality and variety of services out of that region too.”
Arab Wings operates 10 private jets for business travel and medical evacuations. The company also manages owners’ aircrafts.
Business jet operators appear unfazed by the economic downturn, with some targeting significant growth in 2009.
Among them, private jet company Vistajet told Arabian Business last month that it was expecting to grow 25 percent across all global regions, including the Middle East.
