President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa, praised the Ruler of Dubai's "wise vision" on a tour of the emirate on Tuesday, stating that the city's development plans were an integral part of the country’s overall economic strategy.
The President’s visit started in Dubai Marina, followed by a tour of Jumierah Beach Residence, where he visited residential, recreational and tourist facilities including office towers, shopping centres, hotels and resorts.
He then proceeded to Palm Jumierah, from where his motorcade drove up to Union House and then on to Burj Dubai, which will be the world's tallest tower once it is complete in September this year.
He was accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE and a group of other diginitaries and government officials.
''Sheikh Mohammed's vision is part and parcel of the government comprehensive strategy, which as a leadership is striving to maximise its elements to improve living conditions of the citizen, education standards, and to provide all factors of stability and strength to our citizens,'' Sheikh Khalifa said.
''Development projects being executed by each emirate in the country are complementing each others and boosting national economy and standing of the country regionally and internationally .....they also serve interests of sons and daughters in any corner of the beloved UAE land,'' the President added.
The tour culminated in a meeting between the two leaders at Zabeel Palace where talks were held on national development.
Sheikh Mohammed briefed Sheikh Khalifa on the programmes Dubai has in the pipeline for the future.
