Genius outlines channel strategy

Genius Computer Technology (GCT) is looking to increase its visibility in the reseller channel after unveiling its latest range of PC peripherals and accessories.

The company held an event for partners in the UAE last week where it lifted the lid on its current hardware line-up and gave details of a revised partner strategy to combat the financial downturn.

GCT, which serves as the exclusive Middle East distributor and representative for KYE Systems in Taiwan, said it was keen to deepen its ties with the Khalid Bin Waleed Road trading community as it looks to expand its reach beyond the power retail and mass merchandising channels.

GCT, which used the event to give partners in attendance a consultation of how they can work with the company to improve sales, also revealed it plans to launch a new channel partner programme and offer a product line-up to cater for various customer segments.

"GCT wants to keep up the momentum by maintaining long-term relationships with our channel partners," said president and CEO, Milad Jabbour. "One of the important elements of our success is the unique relationship with our channel partners. We work very closely with them, understand their exact requirements and provide proper solutions to them. We understand their capabilities and appreciate their efforts for competing in this high-paced market and achieving excellent results."

As well as its branded products, Genius is also now carrying products from wireless networking vendor Edimax Technology after signing a Middle East distribution agreement towards the end of last year.

Genius says the UAE seminar is one of several events that it is planning to hold in the Middle East, CIS and Africa over the coming months.
