Boosted by customer feedback, Bahrain carrier Gulf Air has announced it will start flying to two new popular vacation destinations for the summer season.

Flights to the Egyptian city of Alexandria will start on 22 June and flights to Salalah in Oman will commence on 01 July. Both destinations will operate three times per week and will operate until mid September, the airline informed.

"Summer is always a peak travel period as many residents, including a large number of expatriates, look to spend quality vacation time in these popular destinations," said Gulf Air Director of Sales Kyle Haywood.

"For this summer season, we chose to introduce special flights to these two popular leisure and cultural spots in response to positive customer feedback."

The airline has also provided a facility for booking hotels on its website www.gulfair.com.

Alexandria, known as 'The Pearl of the Mediterranean' is one of the most beautiful summer destinations, offering the best of Mediterranean and the Middle Eastern culture, the airline's media release said.

Oman's Salalah, known as the perfume city of Arabia, has some of the region's pristine beaches along the shores of the Arabian Sea in a tropical setting. Salalah is also an excellent regional escape from the soaring summer temperatures, it said.
