MUMBAI CALLING: Bahrain Air are set to launch flights to Mumbai.

Bahrain Air is launching its third service to the Indian Subcontinent with flights to Mumbai starting this summer.

The daily non-stop flight, which commences this July subject to government approval, is being introduced to meet customer demand, the airline said on Wednesday. Airbus A319s and A320s, carrying 132 and 162 passengers respectively in business and economy class seats, will be deployed on the route.

Flight 2B517 will leave Bahrain International Airport at 11pm, arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport by 4.40am. The return leg, flight 2B518, leaves Mumbai at 5.30am and touches down in Bahrain at 6.50am.

“We are excited about extending our Indian route network to include non-stop services to Mumbai,” said BK Majmudar, Bahrain Air’s director of commercial operations and corporate planning.

“Mumbai is one of the largest markets and offers significant opportunities for growth in the future. With the ongoing expansion witnessed in our network to reach more destinations to serve our loyal passengers, Bahrain Air would become the logical choice for customers flying for leisure or business.”

As India’s capital, Mumbai is a business and entertainment hub to 13 million residents. It is home to several financial institutions and corporations, as well as the Bollywood film and television industry.
