Dubai Airport has installed thermal cameras to pick up possible cases of swine flu among passengers arriving from infected areas, it announced on Sunday.

The cameras were put in place on Friday.

To date no suspected cases of influenza A (H1N1) have been picked up, the airport said in a statement.

Airlines have been requested to inform passengers onboard of the screening at Dubai International and assure them of the expert medical care will be available if required.

Any suspected cases would be transported to Airport Medical Centre for further tests and treatment as necessary, the statement added.

Airlines have also been asked to make the airport aware if they have any minors on board, ahead of arrival, to facilitate their screening.

Abu Dhabi airport is also screening luggage and passengers.
