Cardio and components for Golden Systems staff

Employees at Golden Systems Middle East are likely to be found pounding the treadmill or taking a yoga class in between selling IT components following the official unveiling of the company’s new Jebel Ali headquarters.

The IT distributor, which made sales of US$95m last year, has ensured that as well as allocating adequate space for inventory and servicing, the office also contains enough room to keep staff feeling perky.

“GSME is committed to the well-being and success of our employees and hence we built recreational places, prayer rooms, games rooms and a gymnasium in our new office building to create a stimulating environment and support them in developing a healthy and creative lifestyle,” explained Moazam Gazi, chief administrative office at the distributor.

“Although a few IT companies have integrated this concept in the workplace in the US, I have not seen any such integration in the Middle East,” continued Gazi. “It is not rare to see a yoga class and leadership training scheduled on the same day at our facility. The idea is to allow people to have an outlet while they are at work.”

The inauguration of the new office comes after a year in which the Gigabyte, Logitech and Kaspersky distributor has restructured its business units and identified new customer segments to target.

Golden Systems believes the 7,000 square-metre facility will aid its expansion as it brings its head office, service centre, production line and warehouse under one roof.

Ali Sharifi, CEO at Golden Systems, insists the office will enhance its support capabilities and allow the company to provide regular training programmes and workshops.

“It will also act as a central point for all our regional activities,” said Sharifi. “We have built a facility where our partners can potentially hold conferences or training sessions for our reseller network and employees.”
