Dubai Financial Market, the only Gulf Arab stock market to sell shares to the public, said on Sunday it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Middle East Investor Relations Society, the first IR (Investor Relations) official body in the region.
Principal objective of the agreement is to enhance investor relations practices in the UAE and encourage other public companies to follow suit for the good of investors.
DFM will encourage listed companies to join the ME-IR Society and allow the use of its premises as a venue for ME-IR Society events annually. The two parties will also mobilise 'to give IR practices the needed support'.
Investor Relations (IR) in its simplest terms, is a bridge between a company and the investment community at large.
The Middle East Investor Relations Society was established last year and aims to ensure that regional companies have access to the necessary tools, resources and network of experts to support them in their efforts to adopt and implement best practice.
