IBM has just announced a range of solutions and products that specifically target medium-sized companies.
Among the offerings that focus on growing demand for dynamic infrastructure and energy efficiency, the company has released new BladeCenter Express servers that come packed with the performance of IBM’s Power6 microprocessors. These dual-core chips double the speed of the previous generation Power5 while using nearly the same amount of electricity to run and cool it.
IBM has also come out with its Comprehensive Data Protection Solution, which eliminates the need to shut down mission critical applications for nightly backups and can offer instant recovery in response to almost any data loss event.
“There is an increased need to improve company infrastructure to make our customers more efficient, cost effective and smarter,” said Takreem El Tohamy, general manager, IBM Middle East and North Africa.
“The skills, technologies and solutions that business partners and IBM are delivering as part of the smarter planet campaign are enabling customers to gain better insight into their businesses to become leaner more effective and smarter organisations,” he added.
