Kuwait bank issues $345m of one-year bonds

BANKS BONDS: The Kuwait Central Bank is issuing a second round of bonds this month to absorb excess liquidity.

Kuwait's Central Bank has said it will issue KD100m ($345.2m) of one-year treasury bonds on May 13 at a coupon of two percent.

Bids for the bonds amounted to KD682m, central bank data showed.

Kuwait's central bank has been increasing the number of bond issues this year to absorb excess liquidity.

The last issue was on May 6, for KD125m, with the same coupon. (Reuters)
