Sumou chairman named Saudi Businessman of Year

Ayed Al Qahtani, one of the most prominent businessmen and investors in real estate in Saudi Arabia, has been named Businessman of the Year at the annual Arabian Business Saudi Achievement Awards.
Held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh on Monday night, Kahtani was one of 12 award winners at the ceremony which hailed the achievements of businessmen and companies in the kingdom.
Al Kahtani, chairman of Sumou Holding, is also currently a member of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce in the eastern province.
Sumou Holding invests in existing companies in the MENA region. It also aims to establish new companies within a variety of sectors, including real estate, energy and financial services.
Last year the company launched the kingdom’s first Islamic Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in association with Geneva based Encore Management.
