Sheikh Mohammed interest in AC Milan denied

Dubai government officials have denied reports that Sheikh Mohammed is planning to buy a major stake in AC Milan.

Milan-based business newspaper MF reported that Sheikh Mohammed was planning to make a 400million euros (£347million) offer to secure a 40 percent stake in the Serie A football club.

A Dubai government official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said neither Sheikh Mohammed nor "any of his advisers are in discussions to purchase a stake in AC Milan".

The Rossoneri, who are sponsored by Emirates airline, spent a week-long training camp in Dubai earlier this year.

Milan are currently at the centre of a developing transfer saga with playmaker Kaka linked with big-money moves to both Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Club president Silvio Berlusconi has admitted he will hold talks with the Brazil international on Monday and will leave a decision on his future in his hands.
