The new boss of leading UAE IT management and advisory services firm e-Hosting Datafort (eHDF) has underlined the importance of Middle East IT services providers focusing on multi-user data centres in order to generate cost savings and improve business efficiency.

Yasser Zeineldin, CEO of eHDF, made the assertion at a roundtable held this week at the Data Centre Strategies Middle East Forum in Abu Dhabi.

“Multi-tenant data centres at eHosting DataFort offer organisations a secure, scalable and reliable infrastructure that is managed by a team of highly qualified IT experts,” explained Zeineldin.

“Sheer economies of scale at multi-tenant data centres, which assemble standalone data centres, server rooms, computer rooms and disaster recovery sites, provide customers reduced costs in capital expenditure and peace of mind with their greater reliability and security of applications,” he added.

He further emphasised the case for firms to switch, citing a range of benefits including cost reduction, risk mitigation, and increased control and efficiency.

eHDF claims that by implementing a common framework for shared services to consolidate and standardise an infrastructure for data centres, it can reduce an organisation’s costs by close to 30%. In addition, Zeineldin insisted that operational spending and capital spending can be slashed by at least half through the application of cloud computing and virtualisation.
