Etisalat has opened two new data centres in Al Ain and Dubai to cope with a rapidly growing customer base, the telco revealed recently.
It now has eight data centres in its repertoire, complete with high-speed fibre connectivity, across the United Arab Emirates and a total commercial hosting capacity of 50,000 square feet.
The new centres will offer its regional customers – which include multinationals, government entities and local companies from different sectors – a secure and reliable environment to host their IT equipment. Specific services on offer include hosted business applications, managed servers, hosted security, Software-as-a-Service, disaster recovery and many others.
Additionally, Etisalat will be piloting on-demand computing and virtualisation services commercially by the fourth quarter of this year, with plans to add a further 100,000 square feet of data centre space over the next three years.
”We are constantly striving to raise the bar in providing quality IT infrastructure outsourcing services for organizations to capitalise on,” said Abdulla Hashim, VP of Business Solutions at Etisalat, adding that the turbulent economic situation is fuelling rapid adoption of their eHosting & Cloud Computing services.
