Abu Dhabi GP to cancel resold tickets - paper

Organisers of the capital’s inaugural Formula One Grand Prix said they will cancel tickets found to have been sold for more than their face value.

Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management (ADMM), who are organising the race, said they would cancel tickets sold to agents who are selling them on again for heavily inflated prices, according to The National newspaper.

It is reported that some touts are selling tickets for November’s race online for prices far more than their official retail value.

The tickets, though available since March, most of them were snapped up in quick time.

Richard Cregan, the chief executive of ADMM, told the Abu-Dhabi based daily: “Some people may try to exploit the high demand for Grand Prix tickets by selling them for more than the face value of the ticket.

“That is why all of our tickets – which will be sent out to patrons later this year – will have the price printed on them. You can also find the correct price for tickets on our website,” he said.

The inaugural Etihad 2009 Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place on Nov 1.

Even a GP race turned a victim for speculation and greed. Anyway the tickets face value in my view was a bit over priced. I hope the view and show in the track worth it and wish organizer a successful event.
