Cisco has put together a new programme for partners wanting to sell the rack-mount servers that it is preparing to launch in the market later this year.
The networking giant expects the servers to be available during the fourth quarter, but is keen for resellers to familiarise themselves with the product in the meantime.
It has rolled out an Authorised Partner Programme, which will allow specialised partners to sell the servers after completing online training and exams.
The launch of the C-Series rack-mount servers is part of Cisco’s plans to expand its unified computing system (UCS) family and augments a portfolio that already includes UCS blade servers.
“With the UCS C-Series rack-mount servers, we are opening the unified computing opportunity to a broader range of our channel partner community while providing our customers a migration path to the unified computing approach of the future,” said Prem Jain, senior VP for the server and access virtualisation business unit at Cisco.
To encourage partners to invest in building a unified data centre practice, Cisco has also expanded its Value Incentive Programme offering for all of its data centre technologies, including unified computing, storage networking and WAN optimisation.
