Huawei and Etisalat extend strategic partnership

Huawei has signed two agreements with Etisalat to extend their existing strategic partnership.

The two agreements, a Global Framework Agreement (GFA) and a Financing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will build on the strategic partnership signed in May 2009.

The financing agreement will go to providing financing for projects, while the GFA is intended to improve business efficiency for the two. The agreements also include the establishment of an Application Innovation Centre (AIC) to jointly develop new customized applications.

The agreements were signed by HE Mohamed Omran, chairman of Etisalat, and Madam Sun Yafang, chairperson of Huawei at the Etisalat-Huawei Summit in Abu Dhabi.

“The agreement will further strengthen our valued relationship with Huawei,” said Mohamed Omran. “With the on-going strategic partnership, we will be able to provide more differentiated service offerings to the subscribers across our geographical reach.”

Madam Sun Yafang added: “As the global economic downturn intensifies, both Etisalat and Huawei will jointly overcome these challenges through our partnership that has been established based on mutual trust and a win-win strategy. We are dedicated to addressing market needs in the most beneficial way to both parties and the whole society.”
