Beverage giant PepsiCo is set to transfer its Gulf production to a new factory in Jeddah 2nd Industrial City, Saudi Arabia.
The 300,000 square metre factory, with an investment of SAR1 billion (US $266 million), is the largest industrial unit for the soft drinks company in the Middle East and Africa region.
PepsiCo will move its projects and factories for the production of soft drinks, juices, water, gas water cylinders and cans manufacturing, the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon) said in a statement. The company did not give a date of when the move will take place.
The contract is the first one to be signed for the industrial city, Modon said.
“Modon has attracted hundreds of applications for Jeddah 2nd Industrial City, where the development started eight months ago, and the start of the allocation of land in the city is considered as an achievement in a record time,” the company said in a statement.
Modon is responsible for developing and supervising industrial cities in the Kingdom.
