Budget carrier flydubai is continuing its rapid expansion with the launch of flights to Aleppo next month.
Dubai’s low-cost carrier will operate a Boeing 737-800NG to Syria’s second biggest city from July 13, increasing its route network to five destinations.
The daily service will leave Dubai at 8am and arrive in Aleppo at 10.30am. Return journeys are scheduled to depart Syria at 11.15am, touching down in Dubai at 3.35pm.
flydubai will cut the service to four weekly flights once the expected summer rush for air travel ends.
“The advent of flydubai flights will ensure the extensive Syrian population in Dubai and the four million plus people living in Aleppo will be able to enjoy our fair fares and benefit from travel that is a little less complicated, a little less stressful and a little expensive,” said flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith.
“While Dubai is one of the world’s newest cities, Aleppo is one of its oldest. The Syrian city has a fascinating history and we are sure many travellers from across the region will be eager to explore its leisure and business opportunities.”
Since launching earlier this month, flydubai has introduced flights to Beirut, Amman, Damascus and Alexandria. It is expected to have between 14 and 16 destinations by the end of 2009.

Dear Pierre, well said. I also encourage tourists to visit Aleppo. Its a must to see and enjoy. I recommend staying at a small hotel in the old city. Taste as much as you can as the food is great.
