Millionaire heiress Paris Hilton’s long awaited visit to Dubai has descended into farce just 48 hours after she arrived in the emirate.

Hilton refused to appear at a nightclub in the emirate, where hundreds of fans had bought tickets in anticipation of meeting her. Sources close to her claim she had “no idea” about plans for her to appear at the launch of “The Bed Lounge”, part of the Intercontinental Hotel.

The event was also widely advertised on Virgin Radio, leaving many listeners angered by her non-appearance.

On Thursday, The Talent Brokers and Concept Events  - who were behind her botched nightclub appearance were preparing a joint apology over the debacle.

Hilton fans who bought tickets to event will receive a full refund.

Richard Coram, managing partner of event organiser The Talent Brokers told Arabian Business: “We are very disappointed. We did everything in good faith, at no time were we trying to mislead the public or do a scam.”

Coram said he had seen written proof from the InterContinental Hotel that Hilton was turning up to the nightclub.

Steve Smith, chief operating officer of Arabian Radio Network, which owns Virgin Radio, said:  “We are very disappointed in this result.

“We are getting to the bottom of what was promised here. Our understanding was that she was going to attend the opening of this club and, as a paid schedule, as an advertiser, you take that in good faith. It is up to the promoters. They need to answer this,” he added.

Event organisers The Talent Brokers and Concept Events were jointly involved with promoting the night at the Bed Lounge on Wednesday, where Hilton did not show up.

Worse still, Hilton’s advisors blocked several questions deemed unsuitable at a special media event held last night.

The chaos over the nightclub was preceded by Hilton’s PR advisors, who blocked her from answering several questions during her media appearance at the InterContinental Hotel, where she was promoting her new reality television series “My new BFF”, which is to be filmed in Dubai over the coming weeks.

Questions about her relationship with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, and also over how much money she was making from her reality television show were judged inappropriate. “We are going to limit the questions to the show and Paris Hilton’s visit to Dubai,” said one advisor, later adding: “Nothing personal and nothing political,” would be permitted as a question.

Hilton’s advisors were also unhappy with a question about whether the TV show being filmed in Dubai would follow the US format which features girls stripping down to their bikinis. However, the heiress still answered the question.

Isn't it so desperately sad that any human would expend one millisecond of thought or single cent to be in the same general location of this other human. And there you have it - I myself have spent a couple of seconds thinking about it and I am now angry with myself. Pure, undminished evil.

Is she an achiever? Has she done something great? Why do people give importance to someone who has not done anything. Get a Life there are more important people around you who need attention and you don't have to buy tickets to meet them they are around you and know how special you are.
