Last May, two ‘BASE jumpers’ performed the most unusual act in Dubai – they jumped off the then under-construction Burj Dubai; the world’s tallest building.
BASE jumping is an activity that employs a parachute or the sequenced use of a wingsuit and parachute to jump from fixed objects, with the parachute unopened at the jump.
The Brit and the Frenchman sneaked in posing as engineers working on the construction project, climbed their way to an exit point at the top and then, simply “jumped”.
Of course, their sneaky act did cause alarm and the duo was chased by the security officers on duty, but the daredevils managed to escape.
But the next time they tried their stunt, they weren’t as lucky – the police promptly arrested them; three months later one of them was fined and allowed to return to his native France.

What do you think of them - daredevil or simply crazy?
