Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways maintained its revenue forecast of $3.1bn for 2009 on Saturday and said it would continue its planned expansion.
"In 2009, Etihad will be a $3.1bn business. We will continue to expand despite severe circumstances in the industry," Roy Kinnear, Etihad's vice president for revenue management, told an industry conference.
"Our growth is tied into the Abu Dhabi (development) plan, so there is no slowing down," he said.
In March, Etihad said it expected a revenue $3.1bn in 2009, up 24 percent from last year as it take delivery of new aircraft and boosts passenger numbers by adding routes.
Etihad, which flies to 56 destinations currently, is on track to achieve its target of 70 destinations by end-2010, Kinnear said.
The airline carried six million passengers last year and is expected to carry seven million passengers this year.
Etihad has a fleet of 45 aircraft currently, rising to 49 by this year end, he said, adding that it has firms orders for 100 aircraft that will be delivered between 2011 to 2017. (Reuters)

Not having the benefit of minorities to question these claims maybe the airline should call in independent auditors who can tell us all what is really happening. You can't be taken seriously when you make it up as you go along, like Eitihad has done from the get go.
