HTC has announced the Middle East launch of its new HTC Touch Pro2 smartphone aimed at business professionals.

The phone includes HTC’s new Straight Talk technology, which combines email, voice and speakerphone to allow users to switch between email, single or multi-party conference calls and speaker mode.

The handset also includes the TouchFLO 3D interface, which has been more deeply integrated into a customized version of Windows Mobile 6.1 to enable easier navigation, and a 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display screen, with touch-sensitive zoom bar and gravity, proximity and ambient light sensors.

For efficient browsing, the phone has HTC Push Internet, which allows users to pre-select their favourite websites, which are then automatically downloaded to the phone. Business users also get the ease of use of a single contact view, which displays voice, text or email exchange history for each individual contact stored on the phone.

Kevin Chen, general manager, HTC Middle East and Africa and CIS said: “The HTC Touch Pro2 introduces a mobile communication experience that simplifies how we communicate with people in our lives whether through voice, text or email. HTC is delivering the latest, cutting-edge sophistication in a broad portfolio of mobile phones that improve how people live, work and communicate.”

The HTC Touch Pro2 will be available in the UAE from the first week of July, with a retail price of AED 3,299 ($899).

for a windows mobile phone, is it just me or is the phone pricey?
I think Android has much more potential and HTC ME should consider attacking that part of the customer base. Althougha i guess business users would still wanna get their on hands on a slow but yet powerful windows mobile.
