Qatar's Supreme Council of Health has confirmed five new cases of swine flu in Qatar, taking the total number of cases to 17.
They include a 46-year old Qatari national who returned to the Gulf state from London recently, a two-year-old Filipina, who came from Philippines and a 28-year-old Japanese woman who came from the US.
The other two victims are a 31-year-old Thai woman who also came from the US and a 27-year-old Filipina who came from the Philippines, Gulf Times reported on Tuesday.
All five patients have been quarantined and are undergoing treatment at the Hamad Medical City, according to a statement issued by the council.
The families of the victims as well as those who came in contact with them are being provided with the anti-viral as a precautionary measure, the paper added.
