Oman awards tenders for contracts worth $140m

WORK TENDERS: Oman Tender Board has awarded tenders worth $140m for projects including new roads.

Oman’s tender board has awarded $139.8m worth of tenders across the transport and energy sectors, it emerged on Tuesday.

The largest single tender was for a power plant, with a transmission line connecting it to the Yitti region in the Muscat governorate, to be built at a cost of $29.4m, the Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Other notable tenders include the design and construction of additional internal roads in Oman’s Al Sharqia region, at $23.3m, the construction of the Qurum power plant, at $18.2m, and an $11.8m dual carriage road project between the Al Rabat and Dahareez roundabouts, in Salalah.

Investment has also been made into the energy supply for the Beach Games City, in Al Batina, and into expansion of the existing Al Rumais power plant in the region.
