Qatar appoints agency to help 2022 World Cup bid

Qatar has appointed a global communications company to work with its committee to bring the 2022 World Cup to the Gulf state, it emerged on Wednesday.
The Qatar 2022 World Cup Bid Committee has formed its communication team with the primary task of "developing the organisational structures and teams necessary to run a successful global bidding campaign".
Nasser Fahad al-Khater has been appointed as communications director while global communications agency Burson-Marsteller will be working in collaboration with his team to formulate the Qatar 2022 Bid strategy, Gulf Times reported.
Qatar is among 11 countries in contention to host the 2022 World Cup. Qatar and South Korea have applied only for the 2022 event.
Nine other candidates - Japan, Mexico, the United States, England, Russia and joint bidders Spain-Portugal, and Belgium-the Netherlands are bidding to host both the 2018 and 2022 tournaments.
The host countries for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups will be announced in December 2010.

in practcial terms i fail to see how qatar, or any other gulf state for that matter, coulkd even be considered. Surely it is physically impossible to contest such a competition in July in the temperatures prevailing and surely such an event cannot be moved to between november and march when temperatures are favorable.
