The Beit Al Khair Society, a humanitarian services provider for UAE nationals, has inked an agreement with ProTeleCo to provide the society with an IP-based telephone system.

“As an organisation, we have been expanding rapidly in terms of number of employees, branches, social projects and tie-ups with other charitable organisations, necessitating the implementation of a superior and efficient communication system that has IP at its core,” said Abdeen Taher Al-Awadi, deputy general manager of media and logistics at the Beit Al Khair Society.

ProTeleCo will be installing Avaya’s Media Server and Media Gateway in the head office and SLS Gateways in other branches which currently runs to a capacity of 130 users.

“Our society acts as a bridge between contributors and those depending on these contributions, and we need to have the most up-to-date communication platform to ensure constant and easy accessibility to both these groups. This initiative is in line with our objective of upgrading the working standard for humanitarian services in the UAE," added Al-Awadi.

Beit Al Khair’s programs benefit UAE nationals who are poor as well as widows, those who are divorced, patients, low-income earners, orphans, students and families of those with disabilities and special needs.

“The benefits that IP Telephony will bring to Beit Al Khair will be realized immediately, allowing it to utilise its resources efficiently and towards serving the community. The high availability, low maintenance, and scalability of the systems will make it possible for the organization to add extensions as and when it expands at little or no cost. Besides, the system has made use of the existing infrastructure, leading to further reduction in investment costs,” said Roger El Tawil, channel and marketing director for Avaya MENA, Turkey and Greece.
