Huge blaze in Kuwait commercial centre

Firefighters controlled a huge fire in a commercial centre in in Farwaniya, where one firefighter suffered slight injuries.
A total of 100 fire personnel from five stations took part in the fight against the blaze which took place in the 2,100 sq m commercial centre on Wednesday, Brigadier Yusuf Al-Ansari, deputy director general for combat and human resources at the General Fire Directorate told KUNA News Agency.
He said the flames were contained to shops which displayed furniture and the firefighters succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to other spaces inside the commercial centre.
Al-Ansari said the blaze might have been caused by an electricity short-circuit and investigations were continuing.
