Microsoft is taking its Bing search experience to a new level by including selected Twitter messages to its search results.

“There has been much discussion of real-time search and the premium on immediacy of data that has been created primarily by Twitter…Today we’re unveiling an initial foray into integrating more real time data into our search results, starting with some of the more prominent and prolific Twitterers from a variety of spheres,” a blog post on the Bing community page states.

Bing has picked a few thousand Twitterers to start off with, based primarily on follower counts and the volume of tweets, with no plans to index all of Twitter at this time.

Tweets from celebrities such as Al Gore and Ryan Seacrest, as well as people related to search technology and business spheres such as editor-in-chief of the Search Engine Land blog Danny Sullivan, will come up when users search for those personalities in association with Twitter.

For example, to see the latest tweets from Ryan Seacrest, you need to type in ‘Ryan Seacrest Twitter’ or ‘Ryan Seacrest Tweets’ or even ‘@RyanSeacrest’. The feature will be rolling out gradually, so users might not be able to see it immediately.
