The family of Michael Jackson is considering a traditional Muslim burial for the pop icon, who died last week.
According to the Indian Express daily, X 17 online, a celebrity website reported quoting sources close to the family that Jackson's new found will states that he will be buried in the traditions of his new faith.
Last November, it was reported that the music legend had converted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel.
The family is considering following the Muslim burial traditions because Michael would have wanted to be laid to rest in keeping with his new-found religious beliefs, agencies reports said.
Michael's brother Jermaine is educating the family as to the special rites, the source added.
Michael was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness but last year there were reports that the singer had converted to Islam in a ceremony conducted by an imam at a friend’s house in Los Angeles.
Jackson died last Thursday, age 50, after suffering cardiac arrest at his rented Los Angeles home.(Reuters)
