Samsung strides into Kuwaiti notebook market

Electronics vendor Samsung has made its notebooks and mini-PCs available in Kuwait as it continues the roll-out of its mobile PC range across the GCC region.

Kuwait is the third market that Samsung has entered after initially launching the products through the UAE and Saudi channels at the beginning of this year.

The vendor has confirmed that its X460, N120 and N310 models will be offered to Kuwaiti buyers through the local channel.

Madhav Narayan, general manager of Samsung's IT division in the GCC, insists Kuwait is the next logical step for the company after the adoption of its notebooks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He also believes Samsung's mobile range has the attributes to compete with other more established names in the market, such as Acer and HP.

"We are very confident that our entry into the Kuwaiti market will be met with positive consumer feedback and demand. Samsung Electronics is a committed investor in R&D, which enables us to offer notebooks that fuse extensive functionality and performance with world-class design that meet consumer needs and requirements," said Narayan.

"Moreover, when you look at the Samsung notebook range, you will find that 60% of the components are manufactured by the company itself. This means that Samsung notebooks have one of the best reliability records in the industry thus lowering the total cost of ownership," added Narayan.
