NEW SHOES: The Shoexpress store in Dubai is the first one of the brand to be opened in the region.

UAE-based Landmark group has launched its first Shoexpress, a value footwear and accessories store in Dubai.

The shop, located at Oasis Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road, has a new ‘rack room’ concept where shoppers search among pairs of shoes to find the ones that fit, rather than asking sales assistants to bring them from the store room.

The firm said while the shop is a “self-service environment”, staff would be “on hand to provide professional advice.”

”We are very proud and excited about this concept, and we are positive that it will be well received within the region,” said Shoexpress general manager Grant Parnell.

As well as shoes, the shop, which covers 1000 square metres, also stocks handbags, custom jewelry, purses, socks and belts.

The second Shoexpress shop in the region opened in Bahrain shortly after the Dubai store. Landmark said it plans to open further shops in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman.

Nice, indeed very nice concept....BUT why you don't stick to traditional model as this new concept will require more staff to put pair of shoes on the rackroom after customer messing up with it as you may experience any where in Dubai?!

This is fantastic news. The rackroom sounds painful, but I'm willing to try anything once.
