Air Arabia has doubled flights to the Turkish city of Istanbul following increased demand for low-cost services to the city.
The Sharjah-based carrier now operates four weekly flights, two of which leave the emirate at 12.40pm and arrive in Istanbul at 4.05pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. Return flights take off at 4.50pm, touching down in Sharjah at 9.55pm on the same days.
Flights on Wednesdays and Sundays depart Sharjah at 9.45pm and arrive in Turkey at 1.10am the following day. Journeys from Istanbul leave at 1.55am and reach Sharjah at 7am on Mondays and Thursdays.
“The historic city of Istanbul, which has been selected as a European Capital of Culture for 2010, has long been one of the most popular destinations for Gulf-based travellers seeking an easily accessible, value-for-money summer holiday break,” said AK Nizar, head of Air Arabia’s commercial department.
“We are extremely pleased to announce the doubling of service to Istanbul, which will ensure that more passengers than ever are able to enjoy the delights of this beautiful city on the Bosphorus.”
The airline also announced it is offering holiday packages through Air Arabia Holidays to Istanbul starting at AED2,200 per person.
