Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines has announced it will launch two Dubai routes to serve the cities of Delhi and Mumbai before the end of the year.
The new flights are part of an expansion plan by the airline that will see six new destinations added during the winter schedule which starts at the end of October, company chiefs said.
The carrier, promoted by liquor king Vijay Mallya, would start operating the following routes - Delhi-London (Heathrow), Delhi-Bangkok, Delhi-Dubai, Mumbai-Bangkok, Mumbai-Dubai, and Mumbai-Colombo, subject to approval by the civil aviation ministry.
These would be the airline's first international flights from Delhi, a spokesman added in comments published by the Times of India.
While the flights from Delhi to Dubai and Bangkok and from Mumbai to these two destinations and Colombo would be operated with A320 and A321 aircraft, the Delhi-London flight would be serviced by the wide-bodied A330-200.
The launch dates of these flights would be announced once the statutory approvals are received, the spokesperson said.
