The shake-up of AMD’s operations under the stewardship of Gaith Kadir has resulted in the company bringing in two new executives to bolster its standing in the Middle East.
Patricia Trodd and Moutaz Saleh, who both have experience in the Middle East channel, will take care of marketing and business development activities respectively.
Trodd, who previously spent 11 years at HP, is likely to have a strong involvement with AMD’s channel as her role as marketing manager for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa involves plotting the chip vendor’s consumer and commercial marketing strategies.
Saleh, meanwhile, will be responsible for driving AMD’s business in Saudi Arabia. His task will be to develop commercial relationships with government and semi-governmental organisations, as well as multinational and enterprise partners in the Kingdom.
He has extensive knowledge of the Saudi channel having previously served as country sales manager for telephony solutions at the Riyadh office of Abu Dhabi-based Emerging technology.
“Saudi Arabia is one of our most important markets in the region,” stated Kadir. “Moutaz will work to improve our ability to respond to our Saudi customers who require innovative, energy-efficient and cost-effective technology solutions based on our leading-edge computing and graphics technology.”
Kadir rejoined AMD as regional chief earlier this year. He took over the reins permanently from acting general manager Abdallah Saqqah who has since moved to head Adobe’s Middle East operations.
