Some 5,508 Bahrainis are out of work according to official figures for June, it has been reported.
Bahrain’s official unemployment rate last month remained stable at 3.8 percent, reported the Gulf Daily News.
Less people were claiming unemployment benefit from the National Insurance Scheme in June than the previous month, the paper said.
A total of 1,995 made a claim in June compared to 2,185 people in April.
Of the claimants, 938 were university graduates, the paper reported, while the remaining 1,057 held no academic qualifications.
Labour Minister Dr Majeed Al Alawi said the figures were a good indication of Bahrain's stable labour market despite pressures from the global economic crisis.
