Soccer legend Diego Maradona is willing to quit his job as Argentina’s manager to join Portsmouth as a “global ambassador”, according to his lawyer.

In emails seen by Arabian Business, Angel Oscar Moyano says the superstar is interested in working with the newly owned Premier League team, in a wide role that will see him responsible for guiding the team, and bringing in new players.

Moyano says that Maradona wants to help build a strong team “for which he offers his mediation for signing players of top level [sic] who with the support of Diego Armando Maradona, will be ready to come to Portsmouth FC.”

He adds that “he´s got all top players ready and even he´s [sic] ready to leave Argentine National team.”

The email also mentions the names of four international stars that Maradona says he is willing to bring to the club, which was taken over this week by UAE tycoon Sulaiman Al Fahim.

Sources close to Al Fahim say they are aware of the correspondence but did not wish to comment further.

Last month Al Fahim announced plans to open a Maradona Sports Café in the UAE next year. Al Fahim is also a close friend of Maradona’s cousin Remigio, with both men working for the UN as goodwill ambassadors.

MARADONA CLASIC BETRAYAL
Posted by alejandro vairo, Buenos Aires, Argentina on Friday 24 July 2009 at 00:46 UAE time

Maradona is a clasic traitor, I'm sure Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim made this email public, no lawyers email is done public, I'm sure that a rich man like him know best not to mess with fire, this news could couse Maradona to lose his job, so it must be true, and if was a good news for DR Fahim he would not make it public, he would have waited to make a deal if interested, this information now made public will be negative for any further negociation with Maradona, could mean also that Dr Fahim has no interest in Maradona and his 4 players, Maradona lost 6 to 1 recently with Bolivia, the worst Argentina lose in 51 years, Dr Fahim is rich and because he is stupid, Maradonas image after this email will be broken at international level, abandoning Argentina national team for an English team is seen in Argentina as the same as making President Bush president of Iran.....
Either this information is wrong and Arabian Business will be in legal trouble or Mr Fahim has to now make this email public for everyone to see.
I expect to see more news on the subject, Argentina has not yet woke up to this news that will be of national scandal.
