Aramco expected to commence operations at its expanded Ras Tanura refinery by 2014, the Saudi state oil company said in a statement on Monday.
The company planned to build a 400,000 barrels per day Arab heavy crude oil refinery to enlarge the existing Ras Tanura complex to one million barrels per day, according to the statement.
“The intention is to generate fuels required by the kingdom, as well as feedstock for the Ras Tanura integrated petrochemical complex with Dow Chemical Company,” the statement added.
