LG has announced the launch of the world’s first ‘transparent’ phone.
The LG GD900 Crystal has a standard LCD screen, with a tempered glass ‘Crystal Touchpad’ that slides out from underneath.
The Crystal Touchpad, which is framed with a band of Liquidmetal, a composite alloy, acts as a touchpad for control, and can also read touch and multi-touch gestures that are traced on the pad for shortcuts.
The phone also includes an 8 megapixel camera and MP3 player, with up to 32GB memory from an expansion card.
For connectivity, the phone has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1.
The LG GD900 Crystal will be available in the UAE from August, with a retail price of AED 2,799 ($762).
