Qtel and Doha Bank have signed an agreement to help support Qatar’s small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) amid the global recession.
Under the agreement Qtel will provide telecommunication support to members of the bank’s Tatweer programme to help them better manage costs and improve efficiencies, Qtel said in a statement.
While Qtel business customers will benefit from a range of financial packages and special offers.
Both the Doha Bank and Qtel will also run a series of workshops to highlight potential financial and business growth areas for SMEs.
This year so far has been a difficult one for Qatar’s SMEs as pressures from the global economic crisis weigh heavy on their balance sheets.
“Since financing and technology are two of the most significant challenges for small companies, support from experts in both these fields will provide an important boost in a challenging time,” said Khalid Abdulla Al-Mansouri, executive director, Business Solutions Division, Qtel.
