The sweet smell of success is in the air.
Last month, Boeing launched entries for its engineering student of the year award. The plane manufacturer is keen to encourage the Middle East’s star pupils to get involved and it promises to be a glitzy affair as the accolade will be handed over to one lucky winner at this year’s Dubai Airshow. The shortlist of international nominees is expected to be of a particularly high standard this year as the region’s aviation industry continues to grow, whilst others try their hardest to battle through the debris of the economic slump.
Entries for our very own Aviation Business Awards 2009 have also been of a superior quality so far this year, and despite the online nominations only opening two months ago I am pleased to tell you that we have had more entries to date than at the same time last year. The awards were initially launched because we believe it is important to credit leading efforts in the aviation market, but this year, and more so than ever before, the event is flagging up the important contribution the region makes to the global aviation industry too.
Winners of the 2009 Aviation Business Awards will be announced on November 16 during the week of the Dubai Airshow, at a gala dinner in Dubai. You have until September to submit your online nominations, so to find out more please visit www.arabiansupplychain.com/avbawards.
