The number of passengers travelling with Etihad rose 9 percent in July from the same time last year to 616,000, making it the airline’s busiest month ever.
The Abu Dhabi based carrier reported an 82 percent load factor in the period, which saw a 20 percent increase in the number of weekly flights.
“We now look forward to building upon this for the remainder of the summer holiday period and into the Holy Month of Ramadan,” said chief executive James Hogan.
Flights to the Asia-Pacific region and North America had an average load factor of 86 percent, while flights to Europe and the Middle east were 82 percent and 77 percent full, respectively.
New routes to Larnaca in Cyprus, Athens and Istanbul helped boost the July results.
Etihad said it continues to expand its flight network.
