The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company For Distribution (ADNOC-Dist) has awarded a three-year maintenance contract for its Avaya-based PABX to communications service provider EMW.

The agreement will cover maintenance and support for the energy distributor’s entire IP telephony network, which includes its Abu Dhabi head office and six branch offices across the UAE.

ADNOC-Dist is currently running three Avaya Definity Server SIs and three Avaya Prologix servers which handles all communications for 600 users.

Ali Abdul Aziz Al-Ali, IT Division Manager, ADNOC-Dist commented: “For a colossal company like ADNOC-Dist, which ranks among the top ten oil and gas companies in the world, a robust and unfailing telephony system is imperative to the success of our business. The system has to be quick and responsive for internal communication between the branches and our fax servers and contact centre have to have high reliability with zero downtime.

“This necessitated us contracting the expert services of EMW to provide timely and year round support, maintenance and, if required, replacement of equipment. EMW have a large number of certified, skilled and knowledgeable engineers and, as Avaya Gold Partners, they are known to be experts in implementing and supporting Avaya technology,” he added.

ADNOC is also expanding its Avaya IP solutions, and has recently deployed 150 IP handsets at its head office. The company has now begun a project to deploy IP handsets across all branches, and also has plans in future to upgrade its Avaya PABX to the latest version.

Serjios EL-Hage, CEO at EMW Middle East, said: “We are happy to have signed a three-year maintenance and support contract and we are confident that our high level of service and expertise will strengthen our business relationship with ADNOC–Dist leading to future opportunities and implementation projects”.
