Hewlett-Packard is injecting some fresh blood into its Middle East sales force via a training scheme developed for graduates in the region.

The PC and printer maker recently commenced the latest instalment of its ‘Summer Sales Training Programme’, culminating in 33 graduates from the GCC and Egypt being offered a chance to join HP’s sales team.

The chosen candidates, all of which have gained degrees in engineering, computer science and other IT related fields during the past 12 months, will now receive training on HP’s products and services after passing a rigorous screening and assessment process.

As part of the scheme, graduates can choose to work across various fields including project management, marketing, business development, sales and engineering. In addition to obtaining the qualities needed to sell HP equipment, they will also be taught project management, communication and business strategy skills.

“The summer sales training programme offers a compelling challenge to graduates in the Middle East and is an ideal transition from academia to professional life,” stated John Hoonhout, managing director at HP Middle East. “The students will also get the chance to meet, network with and train under senior HP managers and executives.”
