NEW DEAL: Toshiba has renewed its contract to sponsor the Premier League coverage in the Middle East.

Toshiba, the Japanese electronics giant, has said it would renew a multi-million dollar contract with Orbit Showtime as the sole broadcast sponsor for this season’s English Premier League.

Toshiba Computer Systems division said in a statement it would be the sponsor of the 2009/2010 football season for a second year running.

Pay TV Showtime Arabia and pan-Arab satellite broadcaster Orbit merged last month.

Toshiba makes everything from advanced communications equipment to laptop computers and DVD players.
