Kuwait's Information Ministry has suspended a television programme for violating the country's media law, the government said on Wednesday.
The TV programme "Sotik Wisal" (Your Voice Has Been Heard), broadcast by the private satellite channel "Scope," was stopped from being broadcast because it broke the Audio-Visual Media Law number 61/2007, the Ministry said in a statement published by KUNA News Agency.
Ministry officials said in line with the final clause of the law's Article 15, the ministry ordered the suspension of the programme broadcast by Scope, without giving more details about what part of the programme was inappropriate.
The statement added that the General Prosecution would complete an investigation before a decision would be made on whether the programme could be shown at a later date.
The ministry added that it was its responsibility to implement the law, and it monitored all programmes broadcast on satellite channels licensed by the ministry.
